In September of 1991, Spruce Lane Motor Products officially opened its doors for business. Our first home was that of the former “Borden’s Ice Cream” plant in beautiful Belmont. We occupied approximately 10,000 square feet of space. We had about 10 to 12 cars for sale, and had storage space in the back for old classics and boats.

Having an enclosed showroom was marvelous for keeping our cars clean, but unfortunately, people complained they couldn’t see any cars and assumed we were not there. We had discussed relocating our business, but weren’t quite ready to attempt the financial strain it would thrust upon us. On August 1st, 1994, with the support of family and friends, we made the move across the road to a new lot where we gained greater visibility from 74 Highway, and increased our lot capacity to 20 vehicles.

Many of our loyal first customers began to return to update their original purchases for various reasons, like the need for a second car, children venturing off to college, etc. In the fall of 2000, we felt the need to grow again. We wanted a place to call our own. We were in luck — a snowmobile dealership was closing just around the corner. The time was right and the location was perfect. After “sprucing” up the dealership, and adding a paved lot, Spruce Lane Motor Products now had a new place to call home.

We are now located at 14011 Belmont Rd., across from the Belmont arena, and now have the capacity for 30 vehicles, and also an indoor shop for cleaning and detailing our own vehicles. Richard and Robert, with the support of their wives and children also operate the family farm on which they were raised. Due to these obligations, our business hours are 1pm – 7pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am – 4pm on Saturdays.
